XAMPP + Win 8 + localhost got Forbidden or Not Found

Hi

I've downloaded the last version of Fork CMS and tryed to install in my computer localhost (C:\xampp\htdocs\FORK) and the message is: "Forbidden" After I tryed install via composer and nothing too, I've did several things to have some effect and no help too, change the .htaccess content file etc... nothing.

What I have to do to install Fork in my localhost? I liked the layout of Fork and I want.

Thanks.

Have you tried to access http://localhost/fork ? Fork must run under a toplevel domain. This means that you need to move the files from c:\xampp\htdocs\fork to c:\xampp\htdocs. When this is finished you can run Fork by accessing http://localhost

As Jacob already mentioned before, you have to run Fork CMS either in the root folder of your XAMP installation or you have it installed in a subdirectory of the root folder (like you already did).

The requirement for Fork to work within subdirectories is that you need to make use of virtual hosts, which is a built-in functionality of XAMP (in fact Apache). The purpose of this functionality is to have a personalized domain name for each project. So you could have project1.dev en project2.dev for two different projects under the root folder.

I think if you follow this tutorial, you should probably get Fork running in no-time with virtual hosts.

Let us know what's the status ;)
