Try Mamp (Pro) server on your mac: mamp.info. It's a great & easy way to start. It has a webserver and a mysql server.

Make sure you create a hostname for your Fork installation (e.g. myforksite.localhost) inside Mamp Pro or with other tools or manually by creating a virtual host.
